We are
pleased to support Dr Afzal Ansary FBIPP and the Science & Technology Facilities
Council (STFC) with The World’s Best Scientific Images Exhibition 2013.
Scientists
creating images to support their research and photographers making images to
record science in all its aspects showing applications of diverse photographic
techniques are encouraged to submit images. 100 of the best – selected by
scientists, photographers, and those working in the field – will be included in
an exhibition that will open in Newcastle in September 2013 as part of the
British Science Festival and will then tour the UK and abroad.
Entries can be submitted from 1 November 2012 until 28 February 2013.
The first International Images of Science Exhibition was held in 2011, coordinated by Dr Afzal Ansary FBIPP. As exhibition coordinator, Dr Ansary commented: “The 2011 exhibition was an overwhelming success reflecting the quality of the images selected. It was seen at the Edinburgh Science Festival, the Palace of Westminster, Royal Albert Hall and at educational establishments in the UK and Europe. The exhibition was a great showcase for the work that scientists do and how they use photography to support research and development. In addition the images are frequently beautiful and fascinating works of art at the same time”.
