The workshop will be held in woodlands and on moorland near Dartmeet, in the heart of Dartmoor. We’ll be photographing along the banks of the River Dart as it flows through the ancient oak woodlands of the Dart Valley Nature Reserve, plus also on one of the high tors above this valley.
Meeting place is the Dartmeet car park at 1.30pm. Dartmeet is on the road between Ashburton and Tavistock. For those using satnav, the postcode is PL20 6SG, but be warned that the one postcode covers the entire village, which is scattered over quite a large area. GPS coordinates are 50deg 32.633min N, 3deg 52.520min W.
Equipment:
A general range of lens focal lengths from, say, about 17mm to 200mm will be useful, plus macro kit if you have any and feel you might like to take some macro shots. A tripod will be a must, particularly for woodland photography. Wear good walking shoes. Depending on how the weather is in the week running up to the workshop, you may prefer to wear wellies, provided you’re comfortable walking in these. Also make sure you have waterproofing both for yourself and your camera gear. Sadly, we can’t control the weather!
Refreshments:
Refreshments are not included so please bring your own snacks & drinks
Facilities:
Simple toilet facilities are available in the Dartmeet car park.
Cost:
£10+VAT (member)
£15+VAT (non-member)
