Spring is always a busy time for awards – our South West regional awards are due to be presented in the next few days – thank you to all of our shortlisters, who have had quite a wait due to the weather a while ago. The annual awards night in the North West is in a couple of weeks, alongside a packed day of workshops and trade show, and the Northern Ireland awards are in April, following workshops with David Stanbury FBIPP and Kevin Pengelly FBIPP, qualification assessments and reviews.
We're also coming up to the deadline for both the national Wedding & Portrait awards and the BIPP Student awards – remember to get your entries in by the end of March!
We're often invited to support awards outside of the organisation too. It's a great way for us to look at the work being produced by people who aren't necessarily BIPP members and it helps to raise the profile of the Institute. For the second year, Roy Meiklejon FBIPP has represented us as a judge for the Pink Lady Food awards, and he'll be at their exhibition on behalf of BIPP, at the Mall Galleries in a few weeks time. He has also acted as a judge for this year's Venture awards, due to be presented shortly.
Competitions and awards are a great way of reviewing your recent work – keep an eye on www.bipp.com/awards for details of all upcoming BIPP competitions.
Good luck to all our members who have entered any of these competitions!
